We provide escorted cookery tours to the beautiful Southern India state of Kerala.

 

Kerala is an Indian State in South India on the Malabar Coast.  It is bordered by Karnataka to the north and northeast, Tamil Nadu to the east and south, and the Lakshadweep Sea to the west.

Kerala is one of the prominent tourist destinations of India, with backwaters, beaches, Ayurvedic tourism and tropical greenery as its major attractions.

Local knowledge & contacts: We are knowledgeable and well-connected individuals who have lived and traveled extensively in Kerala.

First-hand experience: We have personally visited all of the hotels and locations that we take you to and can provide you with first-hand information and opinions on them.

Easy to reach: We personally answer all phone calls via our personal mobile phone numbers (during office working hours). You will never be answered by a machine or be frustrated by multiple options. We will also respond out of hours if possible.

Personal service: You will be looked after by one consultant, who is also the Tour lead, from your initial enquiry until your safe return home from the tour.

Small by choice: We have deliberately chosen to remain small so that we can look after our clients to the best of our ability and enjoy the process as we go along.

Cooking Sessions & Sightseeing at Kochi

After breakfast attend the hands-on cooking session with the chef at Eighth Bastion. Afternoon we go on a sightseeing tour covering major landmarks where you will have some time for shopping as well.

Kochi – Guruvayoor- Muziris Heritage Tour

After early breakfast we proceed to Guruvayoor temple, where we witness a local Hindu weddings and see few elephants. Drive onward to Kodungaloor to have a guided ‘Heritage tour of Muziris’ covering old heritage monuments, Churches, Synagogues. Understand ancient Kerala’s connections with Romans, Jews and St. Thomas

Kochi to Thodupuzha

After breakfast drive to Thodupuzha and check-in Dewalokam Home Stay, a working farm run on organic and eco-friendly principles. Participate in, in-house activities like spice walk, Honey extraction, Bamboo rafting etc., Later you join the chef on an informal learn-to-cook demo using the home grown produces.

Thodupuzha to Thekkady

After a hearty Kerala breakfast we drive past the little towns and lush green mountains to reach Thekkady. On arrival we check-in to Spice Village where the mood of local tribal community is recreated in the luxurious cottages and ambience.  Walk with the naturalist inside the resort and get introduced to different spices, organic farm etc., Later enjoy hands-on cooking session with the chef.

Early morning interested members can go on a soft trek in the outer forest area. Later we have our breakfast followed by hands-on cooking session with the chef.  Afternoon we walk to Kumily town to enjoy it’s lively markets and all prevalent fragrance of the spices. You can buy some of the high quality spices to carry back home. 

Thekkady-Kumarakom

 

After breakfast we drive down the hills and stop at a tea factory to witness the process of tea making. We have lunch at ‘Madakakunnu Estate’ and drive onward to picture perfect Kumarakom, located on the banks of Vembanad Lake.  On arrival, check-in to Coconut Lagoon - a unique heritage resort which transports one back to the world of peace and contentment. Watch a cultural program.

After breakfast we go on a village walk to experience the age old activities like toddy tapping, Coir making, basket weaving etc. followed by hand-on cooking session with the chef.  The afternoon is at leisure to relax by the lake side or for other optional activities like Canoe cruise offered by the resort.  

Kumarakom-Houseboat-Mararkulam

After breakfast we have some free time and by noon we board the houseboat to enjoy the fascinating lunch cruise. We drive onward to Marari Beach Resort, built in the style of a traditional fishing village. The resort offer acres of whispering coconut groves, lush greenery, still waters, roaring beach, a butterfly garden and flagged pathways and much more. Mararikulam

Morning we visit the nearby beach and view the fishermen returning via local boats with their fresh catch. After breakfast we pick the vegetables from the Organic farm and attend the hands-on cooking session with chef. Afternoon is at leisure. You can choose to have a aimless walk on the beach, hear the songs of the birds, laze around near the lotus ponds, cycle through nearby villages or watch the sunset. Overnight at Marari Beach Resort.
